Mr. Football has his trophy.

In a ceremony at Wadsworth High School on Thursday May 3rd, Joey Baughman received his trophy from the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association as Mr. Football in the state given to the Best High School Football player.

Joey led the Grizzlies to a Suburban League National Conference Championship, a perfect 10-0 regular season and a spot in the OHSAA Playoffs.

Joey is the 31st high school player in the state to receive the Mr. Football award. Joey threw for 3.079 yards and rushed for 1,523 yards. He threw for 36 touchdown and ran for 20 more. Joey’s most impressive stat, he threw only three interceptions in 331 attempts.

He will attend Elon University on an athletic scholarship.
