farmers marketSo much fun happening around northeast Ohio this sunshiney weekend. Get out and enjoy one of these fun activities. There’s something for everyone!

The 68th Annual Italian American Festival at Lock 3 in Akron is going on now through Saturday. The festival is free and gates open at 11 a.m. Info:  http://www.lock3live.com/.

Friday is also free fun for the whole family at St. Barbara’s Church in Massillon. Their community health day begins at 5:30 p.m. Explore emergency vehicles, visit the germ station, give blood, health screenings for all ages, dental exams and more. Plus food, games and giveaways. Address: 2809 Lincoln Way NW.

July 11 is the Blueberry Festival from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Dayton Nursery on Cleveland-Massillon Road in Norton. Free parking and admission. Enjoy a hayride to the blueberry patch, food demos and recipes, live polka music, create your own cupcake, fresh fruit, veggie and dip samples, bird feeder craft, feed the bear game and so much more.

Wadsworth’s Farmers Market opens this Saturday (and every Saturday) through October 3. It’s from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ’s parking lot on High Street. Fresh produce, flowers and more.

Saturday is also the huge Rummage Sale at Wadsworth Middle School to benefit the SOPREMA Senior Center. Members get first pick at 8:30 a.m. for the early bird special. High schoolers will help shoppers get things to and from their cars. It’s from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on July 11.

You may also choose to attend the Relay for Life event in Wadsworth that kicks off Saturday at the high school track. It begins at noon with a survivor and caregiver luncheon, then the walk steps off at 1 p.m. Funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society. The event goes through the night with a luminary celebration and ends at 6 a.m. Sunday.

Stop by any 7-Eleven location to get a free slurpee Saturday. No purchase necessary. Offer from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

It’s also First Christian Church in North Canton’s free Summer FunFest.  This year’s event will feature a car show, inflatable bounce houses, slides, and obstacle courses, miniature horse rides, 3-on-3 basketball and more. It all hapens from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday.

July 11 is also Tractor Fun Day at Nickajack Farms. You can spend the day at the farm and sit on tractors, see a Classic Car Show, take a hay ride and more. It’s from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Kids can get fingerprinted for free at Chuck E Cheese in North Canton on Saturday. The agency GASP is giving free computer-generated discs to share with law enforcement in the event your child ever goes missing. Each child who gets their fingerprinted will get a coupon for 5 free tokens.

There are several Touch-a-Truck Events This Weekend, including one in Cuyahoga Falls at the Quirk Cultural Center. See a dump truck, bulldozer or a fire truck up close. All ages welcome. Concessions, face painting, sand play area for tots. Info: http://bit.ly/1IOFB8L.

Calling all Avengers fans! Here is your opportunity to build a free wooden Black Widow’s Sky Cycle at Lowe’s Build and Grow workshop Saturday at 10 a.m.

There’s also a free Old Fashioned Day & Car Show in downtown Hartville. It features a cruise-in, Hartville’s Best Pie Contest, chicken BBQ, food trucks, vintage and upcycled vendors, raffles and more. Families will enjoy old fashioned children’s games, learning how to shoot marbles, making a jump rope, and enjoying wagon rides. It all happens Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
