Don Gordon Jr.Don Gordon, Jr. was born in Arkansas and moved to Wadsworth before he was 1-year-old. And Wadsworth is where he lived for decades until graduating in 1980.

Gordon studied at Ohio State University before moving to Vail, Co. and North Carolina — then back to northeast Ohio. He now lives in Akron with his wife, who’s also a graduate of Wadsworth High School. Gordon is involved with planning school reunions, something that used to be daunting until the Internet seamed the gap.

“We have our 35th reunion coming up this summer and I help put it together,” Gordon explained. “I don’t get to see people as frequently as I want to, but that’s what happens with out of town friends.”

Gordon recalled his schooling at Isham, Sacred Heart and Valley View, plus wrestling at WHS and his career moves after college. In Vail, he skied and worked for a limousine service. He continued working for the textile industry in North Carolina before moving to the mortgage business.

His mom and dad still live in Grizzly Nation and he makes the short trek to town often. “I have many relatives and friends that still call Wadsworth home…You become nostalgic about Wadsworth…its rich history here, families that started Wadsworth, how it’s become a tight community. It’s fun!” Gordon exclaimed.

One thing he says has changed pretty dramatically over the past 10 years is the traffic in Wadsworth. Gordon joked his side street detours are becoming no secret to other drivers.

Thank you for taking time to stop by the studio today — and for the donuts! Wishing you all the best! -Matt&Tina
