The Wadsworth Boys Basketball team won their third straight game as they defeated Hudson 54-42 in a game played Friday night at Wadsworth High School.

With the victory, Wadsworth improved their record to 4-2 in the Suburban League and 8-4 overall.
The game started off very slowly. Wadsworth had a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second period, both teams combined for just 11 points. The game was tied at 18 at the end of the first half.

Then, the game turned in Wadsworth’s favor.

The Grizzlies stepped up the tempo in the third quarter, outscoring Hudson 22-9 to grab a 40-27 lead. Wadsworth hit four 3-point baskets in the quarter. Tony Hewitt sank two baskets from behind the arc on his way to an eight point quarter.

Hewitt led Wadsworth in scoring with 15 points. Christian Szalay had 10 points, including 7 of 8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

The next action for Wadsworth is Wednesday night at home against Nordonia.
