sunshine peakr dayThe National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for much of the state of Ohio. The measure goes into effect at 11 o’clock this morning until 9 o’clock Saturday night. High temperatures for both Friday and Saturday will be in the low to mid 90s. The maximum heat index values both days will be from 100 to 104.

A Heat Advisory means that the combination of high temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and be sure to check on your friends and neighbors.

The elderly and small children are especially susceptible to the heat. Make sure outdoor pets have plenty of water and shade.

The National Weather Service office in Cleveland says there is a high risk of heat related illnesses for those with prolonged outdoor exposure and to those without air conditioning.
