The Wadsworth Softball team gave head coach Mike Schmeltzer Senior his 300th career victory with a 5-3 win over Nordonia on Monday May 7th.
The victory improved the Lady Grizzlies season record to 16-7. In the Suburban League National Conference, Wadsworth has a record of 7-3. The Lady Grizzlies have conference games remaining with Stow (2), North Royalton and Cuyahoga Falls.
Coach Schmeltzer Senior has coached Wadsworth softball for 16 years. He left the dugout in 2011 and returned in 2016 when Michelle DeAngelis left the Wadsworth Softball coaching position.
When Schmeltzer left in 2011, he had 249 coaching victories. He quickly got to 250 wins in his first year back on the job.
