OFF TO STATE 2What a send off for the Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies Basketball team.

Following a pep rally at the High School Friday morning, the school bus carrying the team made its way through the city. The bus slowed down at Wadsworth Middle School, the school administration building, CIS and at Overlook, Franklin, Valley View, Lincoln and Isham Elementary Schools. That allowed all students at the schools to come outside the buildings and cheer on the Lady Grizzlies.

The bus also came through Downtown Wadsworth, where they were greeted by a rousing ovation.

If Wadsworth residents are considering taking their son or daughter to the game, here is what the School District is saying concerning leaving school early.

Wadsworth School Superintendent Doctor Andy Hill says after careful consideration, the School Day in Wadsworth for today will remain as is.

Doctor Hill says while there is strong support for the team, there are many students and staff members who are not traveling to Columbus for the game. He says letting everyone out early will have a negative impact on a lot of families.

Doctor Hill says if parents want to sign their child out early to travel to Columbus, they can do so without any negative consequence either academically or disciplinary-wise.
