The New Mayor of a Texas city is a native of the city of Wadsworth. Retired NASA Astronaut Mike Foreman was elected on Saturday May 5th as the new Mayor of Friendswood, Texas.
Foreman who served on two Space Shuttle missions, won a tight race to be Mayor. Foreman was elected as a member of Friendswood City Council in 2016. He’s hoping to bring some of the experience he learned in space back to earth.
Mike will be sworn in as Friendswood’s Mayor on May 14th. Foreman says one his top priorities during his term will be the recovery effort from Hurricane Harvey.
