Tim KniplOne of the five wrestlers who helped advance Wadsworth High School to the State Wrestling Championships in Columbus last month has announced his college plans.

On his Twitter account, Tim Knipl has announced a verbal commitment to continue his education and wrestling career at The Citadel.

Knipl was a three-time state qualifier. He was runner-up in the 170-pound weight class this year and finished fifth at 170 back in 2012. His record as a junior was 37-7 and as a senior was 44-6.

Knipl also hold the Wadsworth wrestling record for having the fastest pin in school history at 7 seconds back in 2012.

The Grizzlies finished fifth in this year’s Division One State Wrestling Championship.

The Citadel is a Division One NCAA Wrestling Program and competes in the Southern Conference.
