Wadsworth Grizzly pawThe Wadsworth Varsity baseball team continues undefeated on the season following an 11-1 victory over Revere High School Friday afternoon in a run-rule game.

The game against the Minutemen was postponed for three days in a row before the weather changed allowing the game to be played at week’s end.

The Grizzlies are now 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Suburban League.

Right-handed pitcher Chris Byers picked up his second win of the season, allowing Revere only one run on three hits in five innings. Leading the offense for Wadsworth was Kyle Pennington who had two singles, two runs scored and a run batted in.

The Grizzlies get back into Suburban League play Tuesday when they play at Cloverleaf.

OTHER WADSWORTH TEAMS:

*Softball – The Lady Grizzlies scored a very impressive 13-0 victory over Massillon Washington on Saturday. Wadsworth’s softball record is now 3-2.

Grace Zarley was the winning pitcher and added two singles and three runs batted in to the offense. Zarley allowed Massillon only three hits.

Wadsworth plays at Copley Monday afternoon at 4:30

*Boys Track – On Saturday, the Boys team finished first out of 12 teams at the Lexington meet.

*Girls Track – On Saturday, the Girls team finished 5th out of a dozen teams at the Lexington meet.

*Boys Tennis – North Canton Hoover blanked Wadsworth 5-0 on Friday. The tennis team plays at Cloverleaf Monday afternoon.
