Wadsworth boys soccer team scores win #1 – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

001It was “Friday Night Futbol” for the Wadsworth Boys Soccer team and the Grizzlies came away with a 13-0 victory over the Garfield Golden Rams out of the Akron City Series League.

It was an easy win for Wadsworth. The first goal game was scored after just 13 seconds were played. The Grizzlies had four goals in 10 minutes and ten goals in the first half.

But, the game was about more than just putting the ball in the back of the net for the Grizzlies.

Head Coach John Johnson said it was Wadsworth Youth Night and they were able to collect some gently used soccer equipment that they will pass along to the inner city youth team that the Garfield Coach works with.

“We play 16 games during the season. The result is what it is. The guys adjusted well, got some touches and they did some things. And we played”.

Nobody scored more than two goals for Wadsworth.

The next game for the Grizzlies will be on Tuesday night at the Copley Road Soccer Complex against Firestone.
