A hearing examiner has recommended suspending the license of a Medina oral surgeon after a patient died during a routine tooth extraction, according to WOIO.

The Ohio State Dental Board is reviewing the case involving Dr. Faisal Quereshy, owner of the Visage Surgical Institute, after Matthew Miller, 48, died following anesthesia complications during dental surgery in August 2023.

State investigators say Miller was not properly evaluated or adequately monitored while under anesthesia. The examiner recommended suspending Quereshy’s anesthesia license for six months to one year, followed by probation. The Dental Board is expected to consider the recommendation at its March meeting.
