Kent State University junior Veronika Kedroňová has earned an invitation to compete in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, one of the most prestigious events in women’s amateur golf.

Kedroňová becomes the third Golden Flash invited to the tournament and the second golfer from Czechia to receive the honor. The event will be held April 1–4, with the final round played at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club.

“It’s always been my dream to go,” Kedroňová said. “I’ve dreamed about it since I started playing golf. Augusta is the background on my computer: it’s been manifested.”

Head coach Casey VanDamme called the invitation a milestone for both the athlete and the program.

“It’s a big deal for our program and for her individually,” VanDamme said. “Veronika has worked incredibly hard, and this invitation is well deserved.”

Originally from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czechia, Kedroňová has recorded five career wins at Kent State and 19 top-20 finishes, including 16 top-10 results. She also represented her country at the World Amateur Team Championships, finishing 31st individually in a field of 108 golfers.

Kent State Athletic Director Randale Richmond said the invitation reflects the strength of the women’s golf program. “This prestigious recognition showcases the caliber of student-athletes we have at Kent State,” Richmond said. “We’re incredibly proud of Veronika.”

The first two rounds will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club, with the final round televised nationally on NBC. Early rounds will air on Golf Channel, with full coverage also streaming online.
