Ohio lawmakers are debating whether high school athletes should be allowed to make money from their name, image, and likeness. A new bill would roll back rules approved last fall by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Supporters say NIL deals could hurt students’ mental health and create unfair recruiting, while opponents argue students should have the right to earn money on their own time.

The bill is now being discussed at the Statehouse.
