It was another busy year for Wadsworth Fire and EMS.
According to the department’s 2025 annual report, crews responded to nearly 3,600 calls, with the vast majority tied to medical emergencies. EMS runs continued to make up the bulk of responses, reflecting a steady increase in demand over the past decade.
Despite the growing call volume, response times remained consistent at just over five and a half minutes.
Fire officials say the department also placed a strong emphasis on training, logging hundreds of additional hours in areas like hazardous materials, fire operations, EMS response, and even electric vehicle emergencies. Many team members reached high certification levels, helping ensure readiness across all types of calls.
Beyond emergency response, the department stayed active in the community, hosting CPR classes, fire safety programs, school visits, and events like Safety Town and National Night Out.
The report also highlights the human side of the job, from assisting with births on the way to the hospital to recognizing firefighters and EMTs for their service and dedication.
City leaders say the numbers reflect not just a busy department, but one that continues to grow, adapt, and stay connected to the community it serves.
