Ice cream, popcorn, candy and other sweet treats are once again taking center stage as the Summit Sweet Stroll returns for its second year.
The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau officially launches the 2026 Sweet Stroll on June 13, inviting residents and visitors to explore some of Summit County’s favorite locally owned dessert destinations while supporting small businesses along the way.
The self-guided experience features 21 participating locations across the county, including ice cream shops, candy stores, popcorn shops and specialty confectioneries.
Participants can pick up a Sweet Stroll passport at any participating location and earn stamps by making purchases at each stop. Those who collect stamps from at least 16 locations and submit their completed passport will receive a limited-edition candy jar and be entered into a grand prize drawing valued at approximately $250.
The program also offers a digital passport option for those who prefer to participate electronically.
“We’re excited to welcome back the Summit Sweet Stroll and invite residents and visitors to experience Summit County one sweet stop at a time,” said Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Gregg Mervis. “The program shines a spotlight on the local shops that make our communities unique while encouraging exploration, supporting small businesses and creating memorable experiences along the way.”
Participating businesses include several familiar favorites such as Pav’s Creamery, Strickland’s, The Peanut Shoppe, Metropolis Popcorn, Mr. Bulky’s Foods, Rosati’s Frozen Custard, Sal’s Gelato and many others.
Organizers say the Sweet Stroll is designed to encourage people to discover new destinations while enjoying a family-friendly adventure throughout Summit County.
Participants have until May 28, 2027 to complete and submit their passports.
