WellAbility, a non-profit that provides community integration and wellness services for adults with developmental differences, is opening its first permanent community hub in downtown Wadsworth at 112 College Street on Aug. 14.

Since launching, WellAbility has focused on community-based programming, taking participants into local parks, businesses, volunteer opportunities, events and other everyday experiences rather than operating from a central building.

Organization leaders say the new space will serve as a home base while continuing that mission.

“This new space isn’t about staying inside, it’s about creating a welcoming hub where community begins,” WellAbility said in its announcement.

The organization says the hub will provide a place for participants to gather before heading into the community, while also offering opportunities for families, neighbors and local organizations to connect and collaborate.

As the opening approaches, WellAbility is also accepting interest from current participants who would like to add an additional day of services. Existing participants will have the first opportunity before additional openings become available.

The non-profit plans to announce grand opening celebration details in the coming weeks.
