Wadsworth City Schools earns 4.5 stars on Ohio report card

Wadsworth City Schools is exceeding state standards overall in Ohio’s newly released 2025–26 School Report Cards.

The district earned 4.5 out of five stars overall, with particularly strong marks for graduation and closing educational gaps.

Wadsworth earned the maximum five stars in Graduation and Gap Closing. The district’s four-year graduation rate is 96.6%.

Wadsworth also received four stars in Achievement, meaning student performance on state tests exceeds state standards.

Progress earned four stars, indicating significant evidence that Wadsworth students exceeded expected academic growth.

Early Literacy also received four stars, meaning the district exceeds state standards in reading improvement and proficiency among students in kindergarten through third grade.

The district’s biggest area for improvement is College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness, which earned two stars.

That measure looks at how well students are prepared for opportunities after high school, including college, technical training, careers, workforce credentials and military service.

Wadsworth serves 3,990 students across 10 schools.

Its chronic absenteeism rate is 16.1%, below the statewide rate of 23.9%.

Several individual Wadsworth schools also received high marks. Overlook Elementary earned five stars overall, including five-star ratings in Achievement and Gap Closing.

Wadsworth High School and Wadsworth Intermediate School each earned 4.5 stars overall. Franklin Elementary, Isham Memorial Elementary and Wadsworth Middle School each earned four stars overall.

Valley View Elementary received 3.5 stars, Lincoln Elementary earned three stars and Grizzly Academy received 1.5 stars.

The Wadsworth results come as Ohio students statewide reached five-year highs in both reading and math proficiency.

Statewide, 62.2% of students were proficient or higher in English language arts, while 56.4% reached proficiency in math.

For Wadsworth, the report card shows a district exceeding state expectations overall, with graduation and closing educational gaps among its strongest areas, and college and career readiness standing out as the clearest area for improvement.
