One of northeast Ohio’s most popular outdoor destinations is getting some national recognition just in time for peak fall color. Cuyahoga Valley National Park has been ranked the 9th best national park in the country to visit during the fall, according to a new study.

The research looked at 59 national parks and compared National Park Service visitor data from September, October and November between 2021 and 2025, along with Google ratings and reviews.

Cuyahoga Valley earned a fall score of 68.4 out of 100. Nearly 3.8 million people visited the park during the fall months over that five-year period, and the park carries a 4.8-star Google rating.

The study also found hundreds of reviews specifically mentioning fall or autumn, showing just how closely visitors associate Cuyahoga Valley with the season.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park took the top spot, followed by Acadia and Shenandoah.
