Wadsworth Community Radio is your local, non-commercial community radio station, created to serve—and sound like—the people of Wadsworth and the surrounding area. We’re proudly listener-supported and business underwriting-supported, and everything we do is rooted in one simple idea: local radio still matters.
Broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, WCR brings you a unique mix of music, local news, sports, weather, conversation, and community stories you won’t find anywhere else. From our live, local Morning Show to high school sports play-by-play and specialty programs, we focus on what’s happening right here at home.
Our studio is located at 102 Main Street, Suite 101, right on the square in downtown Wadsworth, because being part of the community means being in the community.
Our Story
Wadsworth Community Radio began with a vision: to create a hometown station that reflects the heart, voices, and character of Wadsworth. That vision was sparked by Joe Arpad and his wife, Susan, whose belief in local media and community connection helped turn the idea of WCR into a reality.
Joe was instrumental in the station’s original funding and early support, helping lay the foundation for what Wadsworth Community Radio has become today. On Dec. 27, 2025, Joe Arpad passed away, but his and Susan’s impact lives on every day through the station they helped bring to life. Their passion for community radio continues to be felt in every broadcast, every local story told, and every voice given a platform.
We are deeply grateful for the Arpad’s belief in this station and honored to carry their legacy forward.
