Beehive Industries Expanding in Southwest Ohio with 200 New Jobs, $70 Million Investment

A fast-growing aerospace manufacturer is expanding in Southwest Ohio, bringing hundreds of new jobs and a major investment to the region.

Governor Mike DeWine, JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati and Beehive Industries announced Tuesday the company plans to invest $70 million and create more than 200 new jobs as it ramps up production of its 3D-printed jet engines.

Beehive Industries manufactures jet engines for uncrewed military aircraft, using advanced 3D-printing technology that the company says allows engines to be designed and built much faster than traditional manufacturing methods.Governor DeWine called the project another example of Ohio’s growing aerospace and defense industry.

“This investment puts our state at the forefront of building the engines our military needs,” DeWine said.Beehive officials say Southwest Ohio’s skilled manufacturing workforce and strong aerospace industry made the region a natural choice for expansion.

The company recently secured a nearly $30 million U.S. Air Force contract and says its expanded Ohio operation will eventually have the capacity to produce more than 8,000 jet engines each year.State officials say an incentive package is being developed to support the project, including a proposed Job Creation Tax Credit that will be considered at a future meeting of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
