Big changes are coming to Ohio classrooms. Starting next year, students in public schools will no longer be allowed to use cell phones during school hours — thanks to Senate Bill 158, now signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine.
The goal? Cut down on distractions, cyberbullying, and keep the focus on learning. Schools must create detailed phone-use policies by January 1st, with limited exceptions for emergencies or medical needs from a doctor.
Some parents — and teachers — are calling it a much-needed move to keep kids safer and more focused.
