Cleveland Clinic has opened two new research buildings on its main campus, marking a major expansion of its biomedical research efforts in Cleveland.
The two buildings, located near East 100th Street and Cedar Avenue, total about 300,000 square feet and will house more than 700 employees, along with nearly 30 laboratories and research support areas.
The new space is designed for advanced scientific and computational research, while also giving researchers, doctors and other specialists more room to work together. The buildings include laboratories, classrooms, offices, collaboration spaces and new outdoor areas.
The project is part of the Cleveland Innovation District, a partnership involving the State of Ohio, JobsOhio and major healthcare and higher education institutions in the region. The goal is to grow research, create jobs and strengthen Cleveland’s role in medical innovation.
Since the Innovation District launched in 2021, Cleveland Clinic says it has created nearly 2,000 related jobs, nearly double its original goal.
