Law enforcement agencies across Northeast Ohio are crediting coordinated task force work for major drug seizures in 2025, removing millions of dollars worth of narcotics, guns, and cash from local communities.
According to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, task forces operating under the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission seized more than $75 million in illegal drugs statewide, along with 440 firearms and $4.1 million in cash.
Several Northeast Ohio task forces played a major role in those efforts. The Ohio Northeast Smuggling Enforcement Team (ONSET) seized large quantities of cocaine and cash in multiple investigations, including a case involving more than $100,000 being transported out of state.
In another operation, agents seized drugs, firearms, vehicles, and cash tied to organized trafficking networks.
Additional seizures were made by task forces in Mahoning, Stark, Summit, and surrounding counties, with investigators disrupting trafficking operations connected to interstate and international drug pipelines.
Officials say the work highlights the impact of collaboration among local police departments, county sheriffs, state investigators, and federal partners — all focused on keeping dangerous drugs off Ohio streets.
