The Medina Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened Tuesday morning on State Route 94 (High Street).
According to troopers, the crash happened around 6:50 a.m. when a Dodge Neon, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of a southbound Ford Mustang. The impact caused the Mustang to veer off the road and hit a pole. The Dodge Neon then crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound Ford F-250.
The driver of the Dodge Neon, 23-year-old Jaden Flinders of Wooster, was transported to Wadsworth Rittman Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Mustang, driven by 18-year-old Payton Hurosky of Wadsworth, was taken to Akron General Hospital by Wadsworth EMS.

Payton managed to be pulled from the car with nothing more than a broken arm,” his mom, Melissa, said. “We are so blessed and feel very fortunate to still have our boy with us and watch him walk across the stage in two weeks.”

The driver of the F-250, 37-year-old Michael Troyer of Dundee, suffered only minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
