Now that you’ve got all your school supplies and clothes to kick off another school year, here’s a fun list of things going on across northeast Ohio so you can just spend some fun, family time together!
It’s Valley City’s Back to School Family Night from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday at Emmanual United Church of Christ on Center Road. Food and drinks will be served, and there will be a bounce house, cornhole, dodgeball, card/board games, tug of war, pony rides and more!
In Montville Township on Saturday, come to Cobblestone Park for Music, Magic and a Movie! World reknown magician, Rick Smith, Jr., will perform. There will also be music, a bounce house, giant bubbles, cotton candy, face painting, nail art and more! THe cartoons begins at 9 p.m.
Also on Saturday, some 40 independent merchants will be participating in a “Shop Local Shop Small” event along the Route 3 corridor from Medina Square to the Seville Square. Each store, marked with green balloons, will offer special in-store sales & refreshments.
Saturday night, our own Wadsworth musician Gabe Reed performs at Sonnets Espresso Bar. His show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday is Hinckley’s Picnic in the Park from 1-6 at Bronger’s Park on Ridge Road. Bring your own picnic food or purchase from one of several vendors.
Also on Sunday, Heritage Farm Museum Opens to the public from 1-3 p.m. It will continue to be open on the 3rd Sunday of each month until October. As long as you’re in the area, stop in at the Farmer’s Market at the same location from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The 54th Annual Valley City Frog Jump is from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday. Breakfast will be served along with kids games, a beer garden, amphibian education and activities throughout the day! More info: http://www.valleycity.org/frogs/frogjmp.htm.
Start a night of free family fun with musician Sam Sapp and naturalist Sarah Matheny as they present “Songs and Tails from the Woods” at the Wilderness Center in Wilmot (Amish Country). The fun continues into the evening with night hikes and games, a campfire, and blacklighting for insects. A perfect evening for all ages! Location: 9877 Alabama Ave SW.
The free and fun Summit For Kids Family Expo is Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Enjoy tons of fun hands on activities, free back-to-school items and other giveaways, plus special appearances from Spiderman and others at Akron’s John S. Knight Center.
