Grizzly Track Athletes Heading to State – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth High School will be sending a number of track athletes to the OHSAA State Track and Field Championship this coming weekend at Ohio State University.

At the recent Division One Regional track & field meet held at Amherst Steele High School, the Wadsworth Boys team finished 6th out of 43 teams while the girls were 11th out of 34 teams.

Among the Wadsworth Girls who qualified for the State Meet are Hailey Montgomery (shot put) and Payton Grigsby, Sami Shafer, Emily Kurtz and Laney Corell (4 X 800 relay, at-large)

The Wadsworth Boys who qualified for Columbus are Andrew Robinson, Josiah Sovine, Nick Miller and Gabe Szalay (4 X 400 relay), Gabe Szalay (1600 m), Nick Miller (800 m), Josiah Sovine, Nick Miller, Kai Wagner and Gabe Szalay (4 X 800 relay).

The State Track and Field Meet will be contested June 1st and 2nd at Jesse Owens Stadium on the Ohio State Campus.
