basketballsThe Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies will play for a Division One District basketball championship Thursday night at Medina High School.

In Monday’s District semi-final round, Wadsworth scored 33 straight points as they defeated the Brunswick Blue Devils 76-44.

The second half is what basketball followers call ‘garbage time’. Brunswick outscored Wadsworth 38-27 in the third and fourth quarters. But, the Wadsworth starters didn’t play the fourth quarter.

Jodi Johnson led the Lady Grizzlies in scoring with 22 points. Peyton Banks added 20. For Brunswick, Eileen Salisbury was the leading scorer with 17 points, all in the second half.
