A news release sent out on Monday morning announced Megan Harvey as Main Street Wadsworth’s new executive director. She begins leading the organization on April 29, 2024.

“On behalf of the Main Street Wadsworth Board of Directors, I am excited to announce Megan Harvey as our next Executive Director”, expressed acting Board of Directors President, Adam Barton.

A native and lifelong Medina County resident, Megan Harvey is highly honored to begin her new position as Main Street Wadsworth’s Executive Director. With a diverse background in nonprofit leadership, community development, and organizational management, she is excited about the opportunity to lead Main Street Wadsworth in creating a vibrant and thriving downtown experience for citizens and visitors to work, live, and play. Ms. Harvey looks forward to working with the Main Street Wadsworth Board of Directors, the City of Wadsworth, downtown businesses and building owners, and committed community volunteers. Her mission is to have a positive impact on the city of Wadsworth through Main Street Wadsworth’s focus on economic vitality, events for all, and emphasis on community.

A dedicated professional, Harvey joined the staff of the Akron Civic Theatre in 2018 as the Executive Assistant and currently serves as the organization’s Development Manager of Foundation and Individual Giving. During her tenure at the Civic, she was crucial in producing theatrical works, supporting the nonprofit’s $8.5 million capital campaign, and establishing the CivicGo! membership program. Ms. Harvey graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies in Theatre & Business Management. Underscoring her dedication to community service and her ability to connect with diverse stakeholders, her civic activities include ArtsNow, Torchbearers, The Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival, The Akron Civic Theatre Women’s Guild, and The Kent State University of Performing Arts at Firestone CLC Advisory Board.
