The Wadsworth School District will have school counselors on hand at the high school today (Oct. 7) if students would like to talk to someone to help process the situation that took place during the homecoming dance Saturday night.
A man threatening suicide by cop was shot and killed by law enforcement Saturday night on Silvercreek Road and Madison Trail. Authorities said the 44-year-old was armed and possibly en route to Wadsworth High School.
Parents are praising police and the Wadsworth School District for their efforts in keeping kids safe at homecoming when the event went on lockdown.
The incident remains under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released.
