History was made Tuesday night during the Wadsworth-Jackson boys basketball game. Maxx Bosley became the all-time leading scorer in Grizzly basketball history.

With six minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Maxx sank a driving layup to pass Solomon Callaghan with 1,461 career points.

Also during the game, Maxx set a school record for most points scored in a single season.

The two records Maxx set took place in the same gym where his dad, Jami Bosley, set the Stark County basketball scoring record.

“The whole experience was surreal. The only way I can make sense of it…God gave me a gift to be able to break that record on my dad’s court. How else can it be explained?” Maxx said.
When asked about the ultimate goal for the season, Maxx replied: “The ultimate goal every year is to compete for a suburban league championship. We’ve had an up-and-down season, but I’m proud of how our guys have fought and not quit.”

Despite losing to Jackson on his record-breaking night (final score: 71-63) Maxx explained, “We want to finish out the suburban league on a high note as we go to Hudson and Stow. We are playing our best basketball right now as a team, so that’s a good thing to be playing well at the end your season. Our goal is to make it to the district tournament.”

Congratulations, Maxx! Let’s Go Grizzlies!
