A firefighter and a resident were injured during a house fire Tuesday afternoon on Maggie Marie Boulevard in Medina Township.
According to Medina Fire officials, crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from the garage that had spread into the home. During firefighting operations, part of the ceiling collapsed, briefly trapping a firefighter near the bottom of a staircase.
The firefighter was quickly rescued by crews. A resident inside the home was also injured.
Both were taken to the hospital for treatment and later released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
