A northeast Ohio motorcyclist who survived a serious hit-and-run crash will be honored Saturday in Medina.
Logan Okasinski was riding on I-71 in Middleburg Heights in June when police say an SUV changed lanes and struck him, throwing him from his motorcycle. He was then hit by another rider and taken to the hospital unconscious.
Okasinski spent about a month recovering and re-learning how to walk. He and the other rider were both wearing helmets.
Motorcycle Ohio will present Okasinski with its “Saved by the Helmet” award during the Ride 4 Recovery event at Medina United Methodist Church. He’ll also receive a replacement helmet.
The SUV driver has not been found.
