The Wadsworth School Board has a lot to think about concerning the future of Central Intermediate School. Officials of the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission have told the Wadsworth School District that they are swamped with funding requests for financial help to construct new school buildings.

OFCC officials have told the Wadsworth School District that the earliest they could receive the 37% of state funds that they are eligible for would be 2022.

In addition, the OFCC looks at “excess space”, meaning thy look at total enrollment and available building space in determining district needs not just a replacement of a building.

10 years ago, it was projected that Wadsworth would have an enrollment of 5,900 in 2018. Today, enrollment in the Wadsworth School District is 4,700.
