Ohio’s driver’s license rules will be changing. Beginning Sept. 30, anyone under 21 will now be required to complete driver’s education classes before getting their license. Right now, that’s only required for 16 and 17-year-olds.
Governor Mike DeWine says the change is needed because 18- and 19-year-olds are the most dangerous group of drivers on the road.
Last year alone, they were involved in nearly 60% of fatal crashes caused by teen drivers.
DeWine says the extra training will help make young drivers – and Ohio roads – safer.
