The 2015 Mogadore Summer Festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday at Mogadore Lions Park, 194 Hale Ave. There will be live shows, food, rides, displays and more, including fireworks Friday night. The 5K run is Saturday morning, and parade Saturday at 6 p.m. The car show will be Sunday. More information: www.mogadoresummerfestival.com.
Saturday is Kidz Day at Boettler Park in Green. Tickets are $5 to this interactive festival just for kids, where they’ll learn about safety, health and so much more. Others may be interested in going to the free Civil War Reenactment Weekend at James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor. Visit the camps of both Union and Confederate re-enactors. Soldiers from both sides will interpret Civil War camp life as well as show marching and shooting demonstrations, plus cannon and gun displays. Saturday is also the free Akron Canal Days and Duck Derby at the corner of North and Howard streets. Live entertainment a host of kids activities and of course, a duck derby. It all happens from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. More info: http://www.cascadelocks.org/.
The Festa Italiana kicks off in Cuyahoga Falls tonight (Friday) and goes through Sunday. It’ll be a scorcher this weekend so dress for the splash park too.
Relive the nostalgia of Euclid Beach Park and celebrate the Grand Carousel, now alive and well at the Cleveland History Center! Take a spin on the recently restored Carousel, enjoy ice cream reminiscent of the Euclid Beach Frozen Whip, ride on the iconic Rocket Ship Car and more.
