Storm Damage June 18, 2015Another round of intense storms ravaged northeast Ohio. Gusty winds and monsoon-like rain took down power lines and trees, shutdown parts of area highways and flooded others.

A Flood Warning in effect until 8 a.m. on Friday. The hefty rainfall has flooded the Cuyahoga River in Cuyahoga Falls and in Munroe Falls near Kennedy Park.

Several neighborhoods in Norton have flooded inside and out. Residents in Hartville and Alliance are waiting to see if meteorologists confirm a tornado touched down, as wall clouds were recorded throughout both areas.

If your home is experiencing flooding, the Red Cross offers these tips: http://bit.ly/1K1rw7w.

Waterloo Road in Akron remains completely under water, flooded underneath the I-77 bridge. I-76 west at State Street in Norton is closed due to downed trees. Route 619 between Mogadore Road and the Summit County line is closed from the same reason. I-76 westbound at Clark Mill Road is still down to one lane because of high water. Drivers are being asked by ODOT to avoid these areas.

Flooding had also stalled drivers on I-77 north at I-76 and on Route 8 southbound near the Central Interchange in Akron, ODOT reported.

In Stark County, State Route 43 between Middlebranch Ave. and Royer Street is closed because of downed trees and power lines.

Akron, Hartville, Alliance and Seville are some of the areas hit hardest by the June 18 storms.
