The State Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation into a fatal plane crash that happened Saturday night at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport. The pilot, Robert Taylor, 64, of Medina died in the crash near Rittman Road.

Authorities say Taylor was in a home built aircraft and details of the crash are sketchy. Investigators believe the plane was taking off on one of the runways when it hit the runway, flipped over and caught fire.

This is the second fatal plane crash at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport this month. Back on September 3rd, another pilot died when his small plane crashed into a pond near Main Street and Rittman Road. Peter Klapp, 74, of Canton died in the incident. Authorities say a mechanical failure may have been responsible for the crash.
