STATE ROUTE 94 SIGN JJThe much anticipated repaving project on Route 94 in Wadsworth begins tonight (Aug. 10).

The repaving project will take place along the length of State Route 94 in Wadsworth, except for the area where the road construction project at Interstate 76 was to have taken place. That project has been pushed back and may not start until next construction season.

This repaving on 94 will take place at night, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Wadsworth Service Director Robert Patrick said, “the work crews’ five day work week will be from Sunday night/Monday morning to Thursday night/Friday morning.” The repaving will be done at night because the stretch of road has so much traffic in the day.

Patrick hopes residents who live near 94 will understand about the noise that the repaving project will create and why work has to be done at night.

The road work will take about two months to complete from the Wadsworth-Sharon Township border and continuing south.

There’s even more repaving work on Route 94 when you leave the southern city limits. ODOT crews are working on Route 94 between the Wadsworth line and Route 585.  Flaggers are maintaining traffic.  This repaving will be wrapped up by Halloween (Oct. 31).

Speaking of Route 94, it was the end of an era in Wadsworth on Sunday. Radiant Life Church held their last service at the current location: 951 High Street.  The church is being knocked down so a new shopping area can be built, which will include a GetGo gas station and an Aldi supermarket.  Services for Radiant Life Church were held at this location for 57 years. Next Sunday, services will be held at a temporary location at 8691 Wadsworth Road, which is State Route 57.  A new permanent Home for Radiant Life Church will be built at I-76 and Hartman Road.
