St. Mark’s Church mural vandalized in The Sub Station alley – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth police are investigating the vandalism of one of the seven murals in The Sub Station alley.

The St. Mark’s Church mural, created by local artist Paulette Grubb, was installed one year ago (Sept. 2020) on the wall. Sometime between the evening of Sept. 25 and the morning of Sept. 26 the vandalism happened.

City leaders are sad someone would do this to such a beautiful piece of artwork.

Grubb’s original acrylic painting was transferred onto a vinyl material with a laminate coating that was then affixed to the building brick by heat.

A replacement mural is being explored and could cost around $1,000.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call WPD at 330-334-1511 or Main Street Wadsworth board president Tom Stugmyer at 330-760-7458.
