A strong line of severe thunderstorms blew through northeast Ohio Tuesday night. There are unconfirmed reports a tornado touched down in the city of Medina and possibly Brunswick. The storm produced 60 mile per hour winds. Listener Yvonne Wright sent us the picture you see in this story from Medina, which seems to show a funnel cloud in the distance.

There is another unconfirmed report of a tornado touchdown in the area of Grafton Road and W. 130th Street in the Brunswick. Another report from says Route 57 is blocked off at Poe Rd. from storm damage.

Luckily, at this point, there are no reports of any injuries.

As of 6 a.m. Wednesday, tens of thousands of people are without power:

Summit: 15,860 outages
Medina: 10,750 outages
Portage: 4,562 outages
Mahoning: 3,215 outages
Lorain: 2,890 outages
Cuyahoga: 2,158 outages
Stark: 2,053 outages
Wayne: 1,663 outages
Trumbull: 1,124 outages
Geauga: 1,107 outages
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for all or portions of Lorain, Medina, Summit, Stark and Wayne counties around 11:45 p.m. that lasted until 12:30 a.m. in most areas.

That was one of the scariest storms I can remember. First thing I thought of was, ‘this can’t be happening during a pandemic.’ We hope you and your families are well. Hopefully tonight, we will rest easier. Feel free to share your storm stories, videos or photos with us: tina@wadsworthcommunityradio.com and on Facebook.
