It was a scary drive for those near the north end of Wadsworth Thursday afternoon. A Tesla camera captured footage of a reckless SUV driver weaving in and out of traffic and driving the wrong way.

Wadsworth police say the incident began after the trio — all in their early 20’s from New York — were involved with passing counterfeit bills at Walmart. Two of the men were arrested without incident but the third took off and “fled from officers in a vehicle. Officers pursued the driver, Brandon Waller, 21, for a short time before terminating the pursuit.”

Authorities say Waller ultimately crashed around 3:20 p.m. on High Street near 261 and then fled on foot. He was located and arrested by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office on Allen Drive near Crestwood soon after.

The husband and wife inside the Jeep that was hit had to be extracted. Thankfully, they will both be OK. The wife has a broken rib and the husband is just banged up.

We will update this story as new information becomes available.
