The Wadsworth Grizzlies are undisputed champions of the Suburban League and finish the regular season at 10-0 following a 49-35 victory over Hudson at Hudson Memorial Stadium Friday night.

The Grizzlies finish the Suburban League schedule with a mark of 7-0. Wadsworth will find out on Sunday who they will play in the first round of the OHSAA Playoffs. The game will be played at Art Wright Stadium on Friday November 3rd.

Grizzlies quarterback Joey Baughman took control of the game from the start. Joey scored five rushing touchdowns on runs of 5, 82, 26, 15 and 3 yards. Plus, Joey threw two touchdown passes in the game, 16 yards to Mitchell Blackburn and 42 yards to Christian Szalay.

On the season, Baughman scored 15 rushing touchdowns and threw 26 touchdown passes. Joey gained 1,097 yards on the ground and threw for 2,326. Every time Joey ran the ball, he averaged 10.3 yards.

It’s the first time that Wadsworth has won the Suburban League Championship since the conference was reconfigured 2 years ago.
