Mount UnionThe University of Mount Union held a workshop for alumni called “Education on the Run” in Millersburg earlier this week. Mount Union has held the workshop for the past seven years at Inn at Honey Ridge.

The three-day event offered invited alumni a an overnight stay in Amish country. The alumni were chosen based on an area of interest that they practice, their passions since graduating, and present it to their their alumni peers.

Our professional photographer, Tom Stugmyer, attended and chatted with his peers about his passion for photography in a presentation titled, “Behind the Lens.”

Tom talked about all aspects of photography from glass plates and film to the digital age — and the issues then and now. He talked about the Wadsworth Bicentennial and all the prep and skill that went into that successful event. He showed the alumni the Bicenntennial coffee table scrapbook and gave away a framed photograph of the Mount Union entrace to the college gates.

“The people were very engaging and asked a lot of good questions,” Tom said. “It was an honor to be there.”

Congratulations, Tom, on your awesome photo-taking skills and your willingness to share your passion with others.
