After the first day in the Division One State Individual Wrestling Tournament at Ohio State, the Wadsworth Grizzlies are in a tie for 10th.

Grizzly wrestlers won 3 matches and lost 3 matches on Day One.

Among the Wadsworth wrestlers to score victories on opening day were Noah Baughman at 120, Cody Surratt at 152 and Joey Baughman at 160. Noah Baughman and Surratt won decisions in their matches on Thursday. Joey Baughman’s victory was a majority decision over Connor Homan of Loveland by a score of 15-2.

Wadsworth wrestlers losing matches on Day One were Luke Baughman at 132, Alex Jones at 170 and Clay McComas at 220.

Lakewood St. Edward is in first place after the first day.

Action resumes Friday morning at Ohio State.
