Wadsworth Veterinary Hospital’s Dr. Dane Arends, and dog park committee member, said things have really began taking shape over the past few days.

“The dog park is in full force getting the fencing up. Last word I got was we have over 800 feet of the fencing stretched out and installed.”

On Sunday, July 5, the dog park committee is hoping a few volunteers will come out and help install benches, dog waste stations, water fountains and dog drinking stations. If you’d like to volunteer, you  can go to Valley View Park (618 West St.) in Wadsworth at 11 a.m. on July 5.

“It is finally coming together!” Roni Leatherman posted on the dog park’s Facebook page. “Wadsworth is going to have the nicest dog park in Medina County once complete. This 3.5 acre dog park offers a one acre section for small dogs, a 2.5 acre section for big dogs, two human handicap accessible water fountains each with attached dog water fountain, six benches, numerous mutt mitt stations, decorative fire hydrants in each section, and public restrooms.”

The committee hopes to have the dog park open for fur-legged friends — and their owners — by mid-July.
