Wadsworth dog park water fountainOrganizers of Wadsworth’s dog park want to remind residents that the dog park inside Valley View Park is not yet open.

The city recently got a call from someone saying their pooch got away when inside the dog park because the gates weren’t closed.

Entrance gates haven’t arrived yet to the dog park so they aren’t installed. The entrance gates are on back order which is the cause of the delay.

Organizer Roni Leatherman will have an update on those four entrance gates on the morning show with Tom and Tina on July 27 — and possibly a grand opening date.

Meanwhile, dog park organizers are responding to many anxious requests to open for business. Shania Lyn wrote on their Facebook page that she recently moved to Wadsworth and was so happy to hear about the dog park coming soon.

“I brought my dog up to check out the area and it’s much larger than the one we used to live near,” Lyn wrote. “I love the water fountains! Thank you for what you’re doing for our local pooches!”

Leatherman thanked Wadsworth’s parks and street departments for their concrete installation and helping get the fountains up.
