Movie magic is coming to Wadsworth this weekend! Scenes for the upcoming thriller Ms. Fenton will be filmed at the Old St. Mark’s Church on College Street, and extras are needed for congregation scenes.

Local actor Angelo Oddo (Louisville, Ohio) will star as Father West, a preacher in a chilling battle to protect his town’s children from a supernatural force. Oddo brings more than 25 years of film and TV experience.

The film is being produced by Wadsworth Films LLC, led by Matthew Minor, with the help of a small but dedicated team of film-savvy locals.

The movie, Ms. Fenton, is a reimagining of Robert West’s original tale The Wednesday Children. Minor has teamed up with Doug West and Angie Haprian, family of the original creators, to bring the chilling story to the screen.

Still grieving after a devastating family tragedy, young mother Sylvia struggles to reconnect with her son, Scotty. But when a mysterious woman named Ms. Fenton (played by Izzie Gallagher) begins to spread her influence over the children of their small town — including Scotty — Sylvia must battle not only her personal demons, but also a very real one threatening the town.

Minor says this is more than just a film project, it’s an opportunity for Wadsworth to see itself on screen while launching a feature-length production from a grassroots team.
