town-squareThe City of Wadsworth is pleased to announce that an application for downtown revitalization grant funds has been approved by the Ohio Development Service Agency.

On June 17, 2016, Medina County submitted an application for a $300,000 downtown redevelopment grant on behalf of the City of Wadsworth as part of their PY2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The funds will be used to allow building owners in the downtown target area make structural, mechanical and façade improvements to their buildings. The program is designed as a “dollar for dollar” match to the building owner’s investments in eligible projects. The maximum amount of grant assistance will be capped at $15,000 per building. Downtown Revitalization grants are part of the CDBG program’s “competitive set aside” award and 69 funding applications were submitted to ODSA from communities throughout Ohio.

The application submitted by Medina County on behalf of the City of Wadsworth was one of 37 applications that were approved for funding.
