The Wadsworth Police Department has arrested a 35-year old Akron man who they believe may have been involved in a number of burglaries/break-ins in the city.

This past Friday, Wadsworth Police along with the Akron Police Department executed a search warrant at 584 Morgan Avenue in Akron. During the search, over 60 items were seized after being identified as property stolen from residences in Wadsworth since October 2015.

As a result of the search warrant, approximately 30 existing cases for theft, burglary, breaking and entering had been linked to the property that was recovered.

Among the areas targeted by the suspect include:

Valleyview, Longview, Knollwood, Orchard, Good neighborhood
Brook/Archwood neighborhood,
Durling Drive
Fernwood Avenue
High Street
Broad Street
Highland Avenue
Prospect Street
Wadsworth Trailer Park
West Street
Briarthorn condominium community
Brent Creek condominium community

The suspect, 35-year old Joshua Born was taken into custody at the scene and was transported to the Medina County Jail where he is being held under $80,000 bond. He is currently charged with one count of burglary. Additional charges are pending.

There’s a large quantity of property that was recovered that had been stolen from throughout Wadsworth that had not been reported to police, Wadsworth Police are asking that homeowners check their outbuildings, garages and other outside property to determine if anything is missing from as far back as October 2015. Police are asking that you fill out a report and provide a detailed description of what is missing.
